Mona was previously a medical director at Helix Medical Communications, where she was involved in strategic communication and publication planning. Prior to that, she was a researcher in the pharmacology department at Houghten Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (later renamed Trega Biosciences, Inc.). She received her Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Cornell University in a joint program with Sloan Kettering Institute, an M.S. in Toxicology from the Graduate School of Public Health at San Diego State University , and a B.A. in Immunology from the University of California , Berkeley . Mona D. Lee is a Research Development Officer at the Industry-University Cooperative Research Program. As part of the outreach team, Mona helps to build partnerships between industry and UC researchers in five strategic areas of science and engineering. She makes frequent visits to the UC campuses and attends many conferences and workshops, helping investigators and potential industry R&D partners to learn more about the UC Discovery Grant.
